İbrahim Seten, the owner of the 343 Digital channel, has spoken out regarding the editing of Ersin Düzen into the broadcast of an interview with volleyball player Naz Aydemir Akyol that was originally recorded with Nevşin Mengü.
Channel owner İbrahim Seten stated that Nevşin Mengü was aware of Ersin Düzen being edited into the interview, while apologizing to Akyol for not informing her.
Speaking to Ferhat Yaşar from Gazete Duvar, Seten said the following:
"Let me summarize the situation. We had made an agreement with Nevşin Mengü for a non-football program. We conducted interviews. After the interviews, there were some disruptions due to sponsors and scheduling. In the end, the interview continued, but that program did not fit into Nevşin's schedule. We conducted 3 interviews with volleyball players. Those conditions were not conditions that would suit Nevşin either. At the end of the day, we had 5 interviews with Nevşin. From our perspective, I think of it this way: The content is our content. Whether it is done with Nevşin or someone else may not be important... The important thing is that as a guest channel, our philosophy is this: We take what the guest says as the basis. Even when I conduct an interview as the owner of the channel, I do not show myself. The content is what is important here.
We talked to Nevşin. We were either going to edit Nevşin into the other five videos. We chose this path by talking to Nevşin. Who could be here? It ended up being Ersin Düzen. The questions do not change, what the guest says does not change, the channel does not change.
If there is a series of mistakes, our most important mistake is that we did not get permission from Ms. Naz while doing this. For this, I apologize to Naz Aydemir Akyol and her family. I have seen that there are many people who think they are Abdi İpekçi, who try to portray themselves as something other than they are, and who try to take advantage of this. I don't have much desire to try hard to put people in their place or to tear them down."
