The investigation continues into 17-year-old T.C., who struck a group checking an ATV that had broken down on the shoulder in Istanbul's Eyüpsultan district, causing the death of Murat Aci, and his mother, author Eylem Tok, who helped him flee the country.

After the fatal accident, Eylem Tok had smuggled her son first to Egypt and then to the USA. The mother and her son T.C., who are wanted via an Interpol Red Notice, were spotted in New York.

Journalist Razi Canikligil, who lives in the USA, shared photos of the mother and son on his X (Twitter) account.

Canikligil added the following note to the frames: "Eylem Tok and her son Timur Cihantimur, who fled to the USA, are in New York. The fugitive mother and son, seen at the corner of 57th Street and 6th Avenue, were noted for laughing while their photos were being taken."
