They mocked police while filming: 1 person arrested in Israel consulate attack

The events that followed the armed attack recently carried out in front of the plaza housing the Israeli Consulate in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, continue to be a topic of discussion. During the terrorist attack, a group of employees working in the adjacent plaza filmed a video using mocking language toward the police officers responding to the clash and shared these images on their social media accounts.

In the footage, which sparked public outrage, the individuals were seen mocking the police operation by saying, "You take right back, I'll take left back... Down there, run, run, run!"

Following the investigation launched after the footage caused a major stir on social media, teams from the Security Branch Directorate detained 8 people. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station were completed.

As a result of the judicial proceedings, one of the suspects brought before the court by the prosecutor's office on charges of "Publicly Degrading the State's Security Organization" and "Inciting the Public to Hatred and Hostility or Degrading Them" was ordered to be arrested. The other 7 individuals were released under judicial control.

The incident had come to the agenda with the footage recorded during the intervention of security forces following the attack carried out in front of the building where the Israeli consulate is located, which drew public reaction.

Following this terrorist attack, in which two police officers were injured, the attitude displayed by the plaza employees spread quickly on social media, prompting both the public and the authorities to take action.
