They reenacted the changing of the guard with wooden rifles: Those children marched at Anıtkabir!

Students who became a trending topic on social media with a 'respect watch at Anıtkabir' video they filmed in Iğdır on November 10 arrived in Ankara at the invitation of the Ministry of National Defense. The students, who visited Anıtkabir, marched side-by-side with the soldiers performing the respect watch.

A video of 6 students at the Cennetabat Martyr Airman Private Nurettin Manaz Primary School in Iğdır, who, on the occasion of the November 10 Atatürk Commemoration Day, gave a report and marched in step in front of the Atatürk bust at their school with wooden rifles in their hands to reenact the changing of the guard, had become a trending topic on social media. The children, named Devran Çatma, Hamza Çatma, Şervan Yıldırım, Şah Ali Medet Gülali, and Hüseyin Sevgül, who were brought to Ankara by the Ministry of National Defense, visited Anıtkabir. The children, who realized their dreams by marching with the soldiers who came for the changing of the guard at the beginning of the Lion Road, created heartwarming scenes as they marched while stomping their feet on the ground alongside the soldiers. After the changing of the guard, the children also toured the Anıtkabir museum.

"I WANT TO BE A COMMANDER"

Expressing his feelings at the National Pact Tower, student Hüseyin Sevgül said, “I was the commander there, and we were marching with my soldiers. Then we stood in front of the Atatürk bust. I am very happy. This place is beautiful, there are old historical artifacts, there are very beautiful things. When I grow up, I want to be a commander.”

Hamza Çatma said, “We pretended to march like police officers. Then they made our video. We marched by stomping on the ground just like them. I am very happy to have come to Anıtkabir and I want to be a police officer,” he said.
