In Büyükçekmece, a woman who saw a phone left behind in a cafe's women's restroom told her boyfriend waiting at the door, who then took the phone and left. The suspects' actions were recorded by the establishment's security camera.

The incident took place at an establishment on the Büyükçekmece coast yesterday evening. According to allegations, a citizen named Devrim Nazlıcan Çakır, who came to the beach to swim, left her mobile phone in the cafe's restroom while changing her clothes. Subsequently, a woman who entered the restroom saw the phone left behind and gave it to her boyfriend waiting at the door. The suspect who took the phone ran into the men's restroom. Those moments were captured on security camera footage. The footage shows the female suspect, who followed after Nazlıcan Çakır left the restroom, whispering something to her boyfriend waiting at the door while laughing, followed by the boyfriend moving toward the women's restroom, taking the phone, and running into the men's restroom.

'I BOUGHT THE PHONE WITH THE FRUITS OF MY LABOR'

Speaking about the incident, Devrim Nazlıcan Çakır said the following:

“I had my phone stolen in the restroom. We were going to swim at night. We changed our clothes, and at that moment, our phones were under our belongings. Later, I forgot it there. My friend didn't see it either. Then a girl comes in, sees it, and gets very excited. She gets quite excited while telling her friend there is a phone. They go in, take it, and leave. In fact, I asked the girl afterward, and she said the phone was there. I asked her, 'Did you see a phone there?' and she said, 'No, I didn't see it.' But then she comes back and says there was a phone there. She even blamed a woman who was there, saying, 'There was a woman there, she might have taken it,' and then she left. We have the camera footage; we even have a shot of the girl that my friend accidentally took, she entered the frame. I came to the police station and gave a statement. Apparently, there is a one-week process to go to the prosecutor. I don't know how it will be found, but that's the situation. When the girl sees the phone, she tells her boyfriend, and they go inside together. The guy takes the phone. I arrive at that moment, and when the guy sees me, he runs into the men's restroom and waits there for a while. Then I leave, and he comes back and talks to the girl. First, the guy leaves the venue, and then the girl leaves. I didn't buy this phone with just any money. I worked for it, and I bought it with the fruits of my labor. Why did you do such a thing? If you see this, bring my phone back because I have very beautiful photos on that phone.”
