An incident that occurred in the morning in the İlkadım district of Samsun caused panic in the neighborhood. The unmanned aerial vehicle, which is believed to have crashed, caused material damage to 3 houses, and a large-scale investigation has been launched in the area.

An incident that occurred with a loud noise in the morning in the İlkadım district of Samsun sent neighborhood residents into the streets. Following the loud sound heard around 06:30, the windows of some surrounding houses were shattered, and 3 houses sustained material damage.

Citizens who heard the noise initially thought a natural gas explosion had occurred. Upon notification, police, medical, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area.

DRONE PARTS COLLECTED

Teams taking security measures at the scene collected parts belonging to the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) believed to have crashed into the neighborhood. The parts of the aerial vehicle, which is stated to weigh approximately 25 kilograms, have been taken for examination. It was learned that there were no injuries in the incident.

TECHNICAL INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

While police teams have launched an investigation into the incident, it was reported that the institution to which the unmanned aerial vehicle, which is stated to have a wingspan of approximately 1 meter, belongs and the cause of the crash will become clear after a technical examination.

"WE THOUGHT NATURAL GAS EXPLODED"

Fatma Çakır, one of the neighborhood residents, described the fear she experienced with these words:

"I heard an explosion sound and got scared. I have panic attacks. I immediately went to the window. I looked outside and smoke was coming from the building across the street. We thought natural gas had exploded. It made a very strange sound. We were very scared."
