It has been revealed that drugs were being manufactured and sold at a psychiatry clinic operating in the Bandırma district of Balıkesir.

In a planned operation initiated 3 months ago by the Balıkesir Provincial Gendarmerie Command, it was determined that Psychiatrist Dr. T.G. and secretaries B.G., H.B.Ö., and R.A. at a private psychiatry clinic operating in Bandırma were committing the crime of manufacturing and trafficking narcotic substances.

As a result of the precautionary measures implemented within the scope of the ongoing investigation, a simultaneous operation was carried out at a total of 6 addresses—4 in Bandırma and 2 in Altıeylül—aimed at gathering evidence related to the crime and apprehending the 4 suspects.

During the searches conducted as part of the operation, 1,549 synthetic drug pills, 3 grams of cannabis, 3 grams of hemp seeds, 2 drug paraphernalia items, 5 mobile phones, 2 laptops, and 2 hard drives were seized.

During the 11 interim seizures carried out throughout the surveillance period for the crime of manufacturing and trafficking narcotic substances, 1,313 synthetic pharmaceutical pills were seized, and it was determined that 167 irregular prescriptions had been written, causing a public loss of approximately 2 million lira.

It was reported that the suspects identified as R.A., T.G., B.G., and H.B.Ö. have been taken into custody and judicial proceedings have been initiated.
