Due to a malfunction in the main network supplying the city's drinking water at the Berçelan plateau, water could not be provided to many parts of the city for approximately three days. The municipal water works department teams worked until late at night at an altitude of 3,500 meters to ensure that citizens would not be inconvenienced.
To protect themselves from the cold, the teams lit fires, trying to stay warm on one hand while continuing their work on the other.
The malfunction in the main network line was resolved as of 21:30, and water flow was restored to Yeni Neighborhood, part of Kıran Neighborhood, Berçelan, the city center, and the Bulak and Gazi Neighborhoods. Despite the freezing cold weather, the municipal team that succeeded in fixing the water malfunction also thanked the public for the sensitivity they showed regarding the outage.
