Those attempting to smuggle drugs into prison caught!
Following an investigation launched into information that drugs were to be smuggled into the T-Type Closed Penal Execution Institution in the Elmalı district of Antalya in connection with inmates, 14 people have been arrested.

An attempt to smuggle drugs into the T-Type Closed Penal Execution Institution in the Elmalı district of Antalya was uncovered thanks to the vigilance of prison guards. Investigations revealed that certain inmates in the prison were acting in an organized manner through their connections on the outside.
PLAN LINKED TO INMATES
During the investigation, it was determined that inmates A.B., G.Y., M.T.O., O.A., S.A., C.A., and V.Ç. were acting in concert to smuggle drugs into the prison via visitors coming from the outside. Following this discovery, an investigation was launched by the Elmalı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Within the scope of the investigation, findings were obtained indicating that I.B., A.K., E.Y., M.Ü., A.A., E.C.K., M.A., R.S., and Ş.O., who were considered to be connected to the inmates, were also involved in the organization and planned to take a share of the proceeds. In this context, proceedings were initiated on March 6, 2026, against a total of 16 people for the crimes of "trafficking in narcotic or stimulant substances" and "smuggling prohibited items into a penal execution institution."
SHIPMENT ATTEMPT VIA VISITOR
Under the coordination of the Elmalı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was carried out with the participation of the Elmalı District Gendarmerie Command, the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command JASAT teams, and the prison company gendarmerie teams. During the operation, a search of E.Y., who had come to the prison as a visitor, resulted in the seizure of a synthetic drug known as "A4" in 10 pieces, each approximately 9-10 centimeters in size.
I.B., A.K., E.Y., M.Ü., M.A., R.S., and Ş.O., who were considered to be linked to the attempt to smuggle the drugs into the prison, were taken into custody. It was reported that the suspect M.Ü. was caught in the Silifke district of Mersin, and I.B. was caught in the Finike district of Antalya.
14 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
The suspects taken into custody were referred to the courthouse after their procedures were completed. As a result of the evaluation made at the Elmalı Criminal Court of Peace, it was decided to arrest a total of 14 people, including the inmates A.B., G.Y., M.T.O., O.A., S.A., C.A., and V.Ç., as well as the visitors connected to them, I.B., A.K., E.Y., M.Ü., M.A., R.S., and Ş.O. It was learned that the arrested visitors were also sent to prison.
