Those detained in betting investigation referred to the courthouse

The 38 individuals detained within the scope of the betting investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have been referred to the courthouse following the completion of their procedures.

In the second wave of operations conducted as part of the betting and match-fixing investigation in football, which hit the sports community like a bombshell, detention warrants were issued for 46 people, including football players, club executives, and presidents.

It was reported that 38 of these individuals were taken into custody, while 4 others are currently abroad and search processes for them are ongoing.

Among those detained are football commentator Ahmet Çakar, former Adana Demirspor president Murat Sancak, referee Zorbay Küçük, Fenerbahçe player Mert Hakan Yandaş, and Galatasaray player Metehan Baltacı.

It was reported that the 38 individuals whose procedures at the police station were completed have been referred to the courthouse.

NDAO ALLEGEDLY BET ON HIS OWN MATCH

It was stated that Alassane Ndao, who plays for Konyaspor, was detained on allegations of betting on his own match.

It was also noted that Ankaraspor President Mehmet Emin Katipoğlu, known for his closeness to former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek, was detained as part of the operation.

TFF 2nd Vice President Fuat Göktaş announced that the necessary procedures regarding the matter would be carried out.

Meanwhile, Mert Hakan Yandaş denied the accusations directed at him during the evening hours.
