Threat against Murat Ağırel on live broadcast: 'Watch your step'

Nevzat Dindar and Alper Mert, who host a program on the YouTube channel "Taktik Mania Plus," threatened journalist Murat Ağırel during their broadcast.

One of the hosts of the program Taktik Mania Plus, Nevzat Dindar, said, "Murat Ağırel, watch your step. I am saying this clearly and plainly. Do your journalism, that's fine. No one can criticize that aspect of it. But your recent posts and your efforts to drag Galatasaray into this are inappropriate. Your use of Cumhuriyet is also unacceptable."

"YOU MIGHT FIND GALATASARAY HAVING YOUR FUNERAL PRAYER RECITED"

The other host, Alper Mert, addressed Ağırel, saying, "We expect you to show the necessary stance to those who ask this of you. It is clear that there are those asking this of you. I am saying one last thing and closing. Friends, don't forget, you might leave home thinking it's Galatasaray's funeral, but you might find Galatasaray having your own funeral prayer recited."

AĞIREL'S RESPONSE

Sharing the clip of the broadcast containing the threats on his X account, Ağırel wrote:

"I write what I see, I research and explain what I understand. I don't ask anyone. I may get fired, but I will still write and explain. If I run out of paper, I will write on walls and stones.

I understand journalism as telling the truth without bowing down to any power. Yet, in the end, I am being threatened with death on a live broadcast.

Bring it on. Do your worst. If you have a plan, the people have a plan too."
