Three members face expulsion from CHP following bribery operation reports

A bribery operation was conducted at the Manavgat Municipality, a development that was met with a strong reaction from the CHP.

CHP Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel made statements regarding the images from Manavgat.

Yücel announced that Engin Tüter, Cengiz Coşar, and Hüseyin Cem Gül, who were detained as part of the investigation, have been referred to the disciplinary board with a request for their permanent expulsion.

Yücel also stated that the memberships of the detained Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara and the previous Mayor Şükrü Sözen have been suspended.

CHP Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel stated the following:

"In our Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting today, regarding the process experienced in Manavgat, it was decided to refer Engin Tüter, Cengiz Coşar, and Hüseyin Cem Gül, the main actors of this bribery scheme, to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion; for the integrity of the investigation, given that 7 people from the municipal council group were detained and due to their involvement in the formation of these council member lists, the memberships of our Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara and our previous Mayor Şükrü Sözen have been suspended."

MANAVGAT OPERATION

In Antalya, a 4-month technical and physical surveillance operation was carried out by the Provincial Security Directorate as part of the investigation into the Manavgat Municipality.

In the operation conducted against the municipality on July 4, 34 people, including Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara and deputy mayors, were detained.

Within the scope of the investigation, 7 people who were brought before the prosecutor's office and referred to the judgeship with a request for arrest were imprisoned.
