The independent auditor's report regarding Turkish Airlines' (THY) 2024 financial statements has been completed. According to a report by BirGün, it was noted that there has been a remarkable increase in THY's advertising and promotional spending.
According to the report, the institution's advertising budget, which was 4.6 billion TL in 2023, reached 7 billion 140 million TL in 2024. Advertising expenses, which have shown a continuous increase since 2016, continued to rise rapidly in subsequent years, despite a slight decrease during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
In the independent auditor's report, THY's advertising spending for the 2016-2024 period was listed as follows:
2016: 634 million TL
2017: 610 million TL
2018: 915 million TL
2019: 994 million TL
2020: 561 million TL
2021: 696 million TL
2022: 1 billion 847 million TL
2023: 4 billion 694 million TL
2024: 7 billion 140 million TL
The audit report also determined that the financial benefits provided to THY board members, the general manager, and their deputies have increased significantly. While a total of 179 million TL was paid to executives in 2023, this figure rose to 633 million TL in 2024.
