Timur Cihantimur appears in court: A notable detail regarding Eylem Tok

Eylem Tok and her 17-year-old son, Timur Cihantimur, caused the death of 29-year-old Oğuz Murat Aci on March 1, 2024, in Kemerburgaz, after striking people who had pulled their broken-down ATV to the side of the road with a luxury vehicle driven by Cihantimur. Tok and Cihantimur, who were apprehended in the U.S. 3.5 months after the incident via an Interpol Red Notice, are set to appear in court. The case of Timur Cihantimur will also impact the situation of his mother, Eylem Tok.

The trial of Eylem Tok and her 17-year-old son Timur Cihantimur has begun in the U.S. 

The court decided to continue the detention of both the mother and son, postponing their hearings to June 27.

Timur Cihantimur is set to appear in court for the second time today. While lawyers are expected to request Cihantimur's release due to his U.S. citizenship, prosecutors are expected to insist on his continued detention due to the risk of flight. 

According to NTV U.S. Representative Hüseyin Günay; the decision to be made by the judge will also determine the fate of Eylem Tok on June 27.
