TIP leader Erkan Baş: The issue is not just Istanbul and İmamoğlu

TIP leader Erkan Baş, who joined the protest of citizens gathered in Kadıköy for Ekrem İmamoğlu, spoke to 12punto's Hazal Güven. Baş stated, "We are facing a major injustice."

Citizens gathered in Kadıköy for Ekrem İmamoğlu held a protest march with slogans such as "We will win by resisting" and "Tayyip resign." TIP leader Erkan Baş, who was among those participating in the protest march, spoke to 12punto.

Baş said the following:

We are facing an injustice; politics has long been sought to be designed with the stick of the judiciary, and it has now exceeded the limits of citizens' tolerance.

Across Turkey, naturally, primarily young people and women have risen up and are claiming their will. Everyone has seen that the issue is not just the usurpation of Istanbul's will, and that the issue is not just about İmamoğlu.

The public is exercising its right to resist; I wholeheartedly thank all the citizens who participate in these actions at every level. If we can protect the unity of this people, we will put a stop to this course of events.
