TKP calls for struggle against NATO's war preparations: Let us show Turkey's patriotic face
The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) released a statement following the NATO meeting held in the Netherlands.

The statement, which expressed that the threat of war remains current with the collapse of the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, drew attention to the decision made at the meeting in The Hague for NATO member countries to increase military spending, which signifies investment in new occupations and settling of scores.
Pointing out that it is high time to question NATO and discuss the US bases and nuclear weapons located in Turkey, the statement called for struggle, saying: "Let us show NATO, which has received an invitation to gather in our country in 2026, Turkey's patriotic face and who the real host is in this country. Let us set to work to remove NATO from our country."
The full text of the statement is as follows:
"The NATO meeting held in The Hague concerns our people closely.
If new war expenditures are being discussed while the collapse of the ceasefire between Israel and Iran depends on an arbitrary behavior that Israel and the US are ready to display at any moment,
If NATO member countries are deciding to increase their military spending, which means nothing other than investment in new occupations, new annexations, new regime changes, and new settling of scores,
If the government in our country, which hosts numerous US bases, is pursuing a policy of increasing rapprochement with the US while Iran has been forced to strike the nearest US bases to defend itself,
If even today's meeting of NATO allies offers clues about the increasing debate and competition within the imperialist system, and if the only way those who govern Turkey can think of to 'defend' the country when looking at this picture is to strengthen NATO inside and outside our borders, it must be reminded that it is time to talk about other things seriously.
We reiterate the call we made a few days ago. It is high time to question NATO and discuss the US bases and nuclear weapons located in Turkey. We must withdraw from NATO, which threatens our country's sovereignty and our people's security, and we must expel all foreign bases and soldiers from our homeland.
Let us show NATO, which has received an invitation to gather in our country in 2026, Turkey's patriotic face and who the real host is in this country.
Let us set to work to remove NATO from our country."
