Striking comment from TKP's Okuyan: 'US cabinet with Elon Musk is collective madness'

Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) General Secretary Kemal Okuyan, in a post on his X social media account today regarding Elon Musk's upcoming entry into the US cabinet, made the assessment: "Collective madness! Trump has decided to bring the shop owner, whose shop we are currently chatting in as 'private property', into his cabinet. Along with him, a bunch of fanatical Zionists will also be brought into high-level positions at the end of January."

'THE PUSH AND SHOVE WILL HAPPEN THERE'

Stating that the question "Wasn't Biden pro-Israel enough?" is meaningless, Okuyan wrote: "Because the world is rapidly heading toward a new war of partition. This may not be an open war between great powers. A queue for border changes has formed where great powers will make radical moves to change the political map left over from the Second World War in areas where they feel strong, and smaller powers that see themselves as capable will also look for opportunities; the push and shove will happen there."

Pointing out that borders have remained stable since the end of the Second World War, with the exception of the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the breakup of Yugoslavia, and the swallowing of Democratic Germany by imperialist Germany, Okuyan used the phrase "Now this looks like it will change."

Okuyan noted the following:

"When the Soviet Union dissolved, the federations that made up this great union became separate 'independent' countries. Then NATO dissolved another federative country, Yugoslavia. In both examples, the units that were part of the federations became 'independent' countries. The swallowing of Democratic Germany by imperialist Germany was a similar political move. However, the world still fundamentally possesses the borders fixed at the end of the Second World War. Now this looks like it will change."

'PUTIN OPENED PANDORA'S BOX'

Pointing to an era where border changes, calls for occupation, and comments about "opportunities" are voiced more loudly, and where "everyone has started to lay claim to other countries," Okuyan used the following expressions:

"Much can be said about the reasons for Russia sending its armed forces into Ukraine and the character of today's Russian administration. However, the danger we pointed out right at the beginning has come to pass. With this step, Putin opened Pandora's box. Borders could now be changed for various reasons.

Everyone has started to lay claim to another country based on security, the protection of ethnic kin, historical and cultural ties, or justifications based on an 'imperial memory' such as 'this place was ours back in the day.'

Israel was already an occupier, but now it voices this with great ease and is effectively accelerating the occupation. In Turkey, we are witnessing journalists, politicians, historians, and bureaucrats keeping border changes on the agenda and rubbing their hands in anticipation. On the other hand, in some publications, these preparations for revision have begun to be written about openly as a 'great opportunity for the Kurds.' The course of events in Ukraine is heading toward a solution where Russia will take what it wants, and the remaining part of Ukraine will be 'sold' to Germany, or more likely, the US. Whether there will be a road accident here or not, no one knows. We are talking about trends."

'HUMANITY LOOKS LIKE IT WILL MISS THOSE BORDERS DEARLY'

Emphasizing that changing borders will mean endless bloody conflicts, Okuyan described today as the "age of the bosses going mad" and pointed out that humanity must create examples of resistance:

"However, the steps to be taken to change borders in the Middle East and Africa, to dominate or profit from new trade and energy routes, will mean endless bloody conflicts. Humanity looks like it will miss those borders, which were mocked for being drawn with a ruler, dearly.

In summary, we are in the age of the bosses going mad. Our strength is our intellect, but on the other hand, the intelligence and 'common sense' of the great humanity do not form a strong enough barricade against the madness of the owners of this unjust order. We must stand up and create examples of resistance against this collective madness."
