TKP responds to AKP's 'foreign powers' claim: The people will spoil the game!

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has issued a new statement regarding the moves of the AKP government and recent developments. Pointing out that the governance crisis in Turkey is deepening, the statement said, "We are living in a moment where the government has become so desperate and fragmented that it is attempting to eliminate the right to vote and be elected."

The statement addressed the claim by the government and pro-government media that "foreign powers want to conduct an operation against Turkey," noting that the real problem is that the government has made the country vulnerable to foreign interference through its own policies. Privatizations, the Greater Middle East Project, cooperation with Fethullahists, and the privileges granted to religious sects were cited as examples of this situation.

Contrary to these claims, it was stated that retirees left to hunger, students whose futures have been stolen, and citizens whose right to vote has been taken away have nothing to do with foreign powers. In its statement, the TKP used the expressions, "No one can buy the people of Anatolia, nor can they make them betray their country."

Addressing the government with the words, "Do not dare to come at this people with 'foreign powers' rhetoric in a country where the economy is in the hands of a small minority that thinks only of itself, a country that is a NATO member and held captive by sects and holdings," the statement emphasized that the people will spoil any kind of game.

The full text of the Communist Party of Turkey's statement titled "The people will spoil the game" is as follows:

"As we have been persistently emphasizing for some time, the governance crisis in Turkey is deepening. We are living in a moment where the government has become so desperate and fragmented that it is attempting to eliminate the right to vote and be elected.

According to the government and the pro-government media, foreign powers are conducting an operation against Turkey.

Retirees left to hunger, students whose futures have been stolen, and our citizens whose right to vote has been taken away have nothing to do with foreign powers. No one can buy the people of Anatolia, nor can they make them betray their country.

But they are right; foreign powers do want to conduct an operation against Turkey, as they always have.

Let it be known that they themselves made Turkey vulnerable to those operations.

Privatizations were the surrender of the entire country to multinational monopolies and TÜSİAD.

The Greater Middle East Project dragged Turkey into imperialist plans.

The fabricated operations they conducted hand-in-hand with the Fethullahists shook all institutions to their roots and took over society.

The privileges granted to religious sects took away what remained of the gains of the Republic.

They meddled in Syria, the country fell into the hands of British agents, and they called this a 'victory.'

A very large part of the country is poor and desperate. A handful of the wealthy have seized all the riches.

While doing all this, they used to say, 'but the nation elects us.' Now it is understood that they have decided there is no longer any need to let the nation elect.

Enough is enough!

We say to the government: Do not dare to come at this people with 'foreign powers' rhetoric in a country where the economy is in the hands of a small minority that thinks only of itself, a country that is a NATO member and held captive by sects and holdings.

You cannot repel the operation of foreign powers with this exploitative order.

The people will repel it.

The workers, retirees, students, intellectuals, and poor peasants who say Independence, Republic, Secularism, and Equality will spoil any game."
