Touristic Eastern Express begins its new season
The Touristic Eastern Express, which has become a favorite among travelers and art enthusiasts, began its voyages this morning with a farewell ceremony held in Ankara. The season for the Touristic Eastern Express, launched by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, kicked off today with its first trip from Ankara to Kars.

The Touristic Eastern Express, a unique opportunity for those who wish to discover the historical and cultural riches of Turkey, has resumed its voyages for the 2023 season.
According to the statement by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the Touristic Eastern Express will operate a total of 84 trips in the new season, running three days a week on the Ankara-Kars route. This special train will be one of four routes offering the chance to explore historical and cultural cities along the Ankara-Kars line. Consisting only of dining and sleeping cars, the Touristic Eastern Express will make approximately 3-hour stops in Erzincan and Erzurum on the Ankara-Kars route, and in Divriği, Sivas, and İliç on the Kars-Ankara route. This initiative offers travelers the opportunity to experience Turkey's rich history and culture.
LOW-SEASON FARE IS 6 THOUSAND
Ticket prices for the Touristic Eastern Express vary by season. The room fare has been set at 6 thousand liras for the low season, 8 thousand liras for the normal season, and 12 thousand 500 liras for the high season. A maximum of two people can travel in one room, and up to 2 children between the ages of 0-6 can travel free of charge. Tickets cover only the train journey; dining, excursions, and hotel services are charged separately.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the Touristic Eastern Express offers a unique vacation option for various age groups, especially young people, nature enthusiasts, and photographers. In addition to the 8 sleeping cars sold through travel agencies, tickets for 2 cars have been offered for sale by TCDD.
