Toy protest in front of the Israeli Consulate General

A group of members from non-governmental organizations held a protest with toys in front of the Israeli Consulate General to draw attention to the children massacred in Gaza.

Gathering in front of the Consulate General with Turkish and Palestinian flags in their hands, the group chanted slogans against Israel.

Making a statement on behalf of the group, Yeryüzü Çocukları Derneği (Earth Children Association) President Sümeyye Altun said that they gathered to be the voice of the children massacred by the occupying Israel in Gaza, and that the toys were stained with blood along with the murdered children.

CALL TO ACTION AGAINST GENOCIDE

Emphasizing that they no longer want to see the dismembered bodies of children, but rather images of them playing safely with their toys at home, Altun called on everyone, especially institutions working for children worldwide, to take action to stop the genocide being committed.

''ARE YOU WAITING FOR ALL THE PEOPLE IN GAZA TO BE ANNIHILATED?''

Noting that every child who died was someone's sibling or friend, Altun continued as follows:

"We would stand up and shake the world if a single hair on our children's heads were harmed, wouldn't we? The thousands of children killed in Gaza are also someone's children. Has the time not come to stand up and shake the world for them? I am addressing the world leaders who remain silent or do nothing more than condemn this genocide carried out by Israel; Israel continues to kill 1 person every 5 minutes and 3 children every hour. Are you waiting for all the people in Gaza to be annihilated before you raise your voices?"

The group members, who left the toys they were holding in front of the Consulate General building, then dispersed.
