During the first four days of the Eid al-Adha holiday, a total of 2,960 traffic accidents occurred. While 32 people lost their lives in these accidents, 4,817 people were injured. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, in a statement made via social media, invited citizens to comply with traffic rules.

Minister Yerlikaya stated that on Sunday, the third day of the holiday, 722 traffic accidents occurred, resulting in 6 deaths and 1,227 injuries. Emphasizing the importance of following traffic rules, Yerlikaya said, "Roads have rules, there is no king of the road."

Stating that Police and Gendarmerie traffic teams are continuing their inspections throughout the holiday, Yerlikaya announced that 1 million 912 thousand 720 vehicles have been checked. He expressed that the inspections are being conducted to prevent accidents and minimize loss of life.
