Traffic fines issued in the first 4 months of the year have been announced

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that traffic teams carried out 2 million 126 thousand 384 procedures regarding speed violations between January 1 and April 24.

Minister Yerlikaya pointed out in a statement on his social media account that excessive speed is the leading cause of traffic accidents.

Stating that 2 million 126 thousand 384 procedures were carried out by traffic teams regarding speed violations between January 1 and April 24, Yerlikaya also emphasized that 1 million 992 thousand 787 procedures were applied through Electronic Inspection Systems.

Pointing to the dangers of exceeding speed limits while driving, Yerlikaya stated, "Let us not forget, speed does not gain us anything, it steals from our lives. Let our priority be safety, not speed."

TRAFFIC INSPECTIONS

Minister Yerlikaya also shared data regarding traffic inspections carried out between April 17 and 24.

Stating that 3 million 641 thousand 525 vehicles were inspected by police and gendarmerie traffic teams, Yerlikaya noted the following:

"Procedures were carried out against 52 drivers who used devices with light or sound warning signals (beacons) on vehicles not permitted by legislation. Along with other procedures, a total of 524 thousand 100 vehicles/drivers were processed, including 162 thousand 64 for speed violations, 29 thousand 68 for failing to have periodic inspections, 26 thousand 672 for not using seat belts, 17 thousand 773 for driving without a license, and 7 thousand 879 for lacking mandatory financial liability insurance."
