Tragic accident in Malatya: Dragged 200 meters under a train
In Malatya, a car was struck by a train at a level crossing and dragged for approximately 200 meters. The driver, who was determined not to have a driver's license, lost his life in the tragic accident.

The accident occurred at around 21:30 in Dilek Neighborhood of Malatya's Yeşilyurt district.
According to allegations, the Tofaş-brand car with license plate 44 EK 597, driven by Alper Efe E. (17), who was attempting to cross the level crossing on İstasyon Street, was struck by the passenger train operating the Sivas-Malatya route.
In the tragic accident, the car was dragged for approximately 200 meters under the train and turned into a wreck, while the driver lost his life at the scene.
Following the accident, health and fire department teams were dispatched to the area, and gendarmerie teams initiated an investigation at the scene.
While teams from the Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department conducted a search in the area against the possibility of another person being in the vehicle, the driver, who was removed from the car, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue for an autopsy by a funeral vehicle.
The train engineer was taken to the police station to provide a statement, and an investigation into the accident has been launched.
