In Manisa, a cargo truck with license plate 06 CEN 917, driven by Şemsettin G., lost control on the Istanbul-Izmir Highway passing through the Saruhanlı district, struck lighting poles on the median, and overturned.
Upon notification, police, gendarmerie, medical, and highway teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
Medical teams arriving at the scene determined that the passenger in the truck, İsa D., had lost their life at the scene.
The seriously injured truck driver, Şemşettin G., was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Due to the accident, traffic on the Istanbul-bound side of the highway was restricted to a single lane.
Meanwhile, two cars also sustained damage after hitting the lighting poles that had fallen onto the road as a result of the truck's impact.
