Two people, including a police officer, lost their lives after a security vehicle collided with the rear of a tanker on the Ankara TEM highway near Cankurtaran.

According to the information obtained, the accident occurred around 07:20. The security vehicle with license plate 06 BMA 330, which was escorting the Head of the Presidential Strategy and Budget Directorate İbrahim Şenel, struck a tanker from behind on the Istanbul-bound section of the Anatolian Highway between Çamlıdere and Gerede. Police officer İbrahim Güney and presidential staff member and driver Ahmet Ülger were killed in the accident. Following the crash, numerous medical and security teams were dispatched to the scene, and the local public prosecutor arrived to conduct an investigation. The Head of the Presidential Strategy and Budget Directorate, Şenel, and his accompanying delegation turned back after receiving news of the accident and arrived at the scene.

Authorities announced that a detailed investigation into the accident has been launched.
