Tragic news from the collapse in Büyükçekmece: 1 worker lost his life

The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that A.M. (39), one of the workers trapped under soil following a collapse at a construction site in Büyükçekmece, has lost his life. B.M. (28), who was rescued from the collapse with injuries in the same incident, has been taken under treatment at the hospital.
According to the Governor's Office statement, the incident occurred on Saturday, September 19, at approximately 18:40 at a construction site located in the Alkent 2000 neighborhood of the Büyükçekmece district. Following the landslide, teams dispatched to the area initiated search and rescue operations for the two construction workers trapped under the debris.
As a result of the efforts, B.M. was rescued with injuries and handed over to medical teams. It was determined that A.M. could not be saved and had passed away. It was learned that A.M.'s body was recovered from under the debris at approximately 01:00 and taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
The Governor's Office announced that within the scope of the investigation launched into the incident, the construction company owner Ö.T., the site manager T.U., and company employee N.Ş. were apprehended and taken into custody. It was stated that the investigation into the suspects is ongoing.
