The incident occurred in the Aşağı Çinpolat neighborhood of Akçakale district. Bünyamin Saruhan, who was playing near his home, went missing after a short while. When the family's search efforts yielded no results, the situation was reported to the gendarmerie teams. AFAD teams were dispatched to the area based on the possibility that the child might have fallen into the irrigation canal.
Local citizens also supported the search efforts. The body of Bünyamin Saruhan was found in an irrigation canal near the Obalı neighborhood, 3 kilometers away. The lifeless body, which was recovered from the water, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
