Trash disposal dispute in Kağıthane turns into an attack: One woman beaten, her brother stabbed

In Istanbul's Kağıthane district, a dispute that reportedly began over trash disposal escalated into a physical assault and then a stabbing. In the incident that occurred in the Yahya Kemal neighborhood on August 8 at approximately 22:00, Meltem G. (49) got into an argument with B.Ç. (14) while she was going out to take out the trash.
It is alleged that B.Ç. told Meltem G., "You cannot throw trash here." As the argument intensified, B.Ç. assaulted the woman. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene for Meltem G., whose nose was broken as a result of the blows. The woman received initial treatment and was taken to Okmeydanı Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital. B.Ç. was taken into custody by police teams.
Following the incident, Ali B. (47), who was identified as a relative of B.Ç., arrived on the same street. An argument broke out between Ali B. and Meltem G.'s brother, Özgür G. In the incident, which quickly turned into a fight, Ali B. stabbed Özgür G. in the chest. It was noted that Ali B. was also injured in the hand during the fight.
It was learned that Özgür G., who was taken to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital after intervention by medical teams, remains in critical condition. Ali B., who was injured in the hand, was also taken under treatment at the hospital. Police teams seized the knife used in the incident.
B.Ç., who was referred to the courthouse after processing at the police station, was released under judicial control. Ali B., who was taken into custody after his treatment was completed, was referred to the courthouse following his statement. Ali B. was arrested by the court on charges of "intentional injury."
Checks revealed that Ali B. had a total of 11 criminal records for "violation of the law on firearms," "intentional injury," "theft," and "car theft." It was determined that Özgür G. had a total of 4 records for "intentional injury" and "violation of the law on firearms."
