'Tropical nights' leave Turkey gasping for air
Temperatures have exceeded 40 degrees in 56 provinces across the country, where air temperatures continue to hover above seasonal norms.

According to data on the General Directorate of Meteorology's website, temperatures across the country continue to hover 6 to 12 degrees above seasonal norms.
The highest temperature today was recorded at 48.7 degrees in the Cizre district of Şırnak. This was followed by 47.5 degrees in Kızıltepe, Mardin, and 47.1 degrees in the Ceylanpınar district of Şanlıurfa.
Due to nighttime temperatures remaining at or above 20 degrees, the country is experiencing 'tropical nights'.
