TRT executives' attendance fee increased by 464 percent!
The attendance fees for TRT board members have increased by 464 percent over the last four years. This increase is fueling criticism regarding the spending of the institution, which is financed by taxes collected from citizens.

The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) derives a large portion of its income from taxes collected from citizens, and this situation is criticized, particularly on the grounds that it broadcasts content close to the government. The institution's expenditures also continue to be a subject of public debate.
According to a report by Sözcü, the attendance fees paid to TRT board members have shown a remarkable increase since 2020. This fee, which was 7 thousand 259 TL in 2020, rose to 8 thousand 934 TL in 2021, 13 thousand 909 TL in 2022, and 23 thousand 478 TL in 2023. In 2024, it reached 41 thousand TL following a 75 percent raise. This increase was recorded at 464 percent over four years.
The TRT board of directors includes names well-known to the public. These individuals include Hilal Kaplan, Oğuzhan Bilgin, the son of former Minister of Labor Vedat Bilgin, Presidential Media Coordinator Mücahid Eker, and Oğuz Göksu, the author of the book "Erdoğan’s Leadership Codes."
