TRT launches Spanish-language broadcasting
TRT Spanish, a new digital news platform established as part of TRT's goals to expand its foreign-language broadcasting, has begun its operations.

Following TRT World, TRT Arabic, TRT Russian, TRT German, TRT French, TRT Balkan, and TRT Afrika, TRT has now launched its TRT Spanish digital news platform.
The launch of the TRT Spanish digital news platform took place on the second day of the "1st Broadcasting Summit for Spanish-Speaking Countries," hosted by TRT Director General Mehmet Zahid Sobacı.
The ceremony was attended by Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Hasan Hüseyin Can, AKP Istanbul MP Nilhan Ayan, AKP Şanlıurfa MP Abdurrahim Dusak, 17 directors general, 21 journalists, and 16 executives from media organizations in Spanish-speaking countries—including Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Bolivia—as well as 40 Latin American and Spanish students studying in Turkey, high-level foreign mission representatives, and members of the press.
OPENING SPEECH BY SOBACI
The opening speech of the program was delivered by TRT Director General Sobacı.
Pointing out that TRT conducts broadcasting and production activities reaching seven continents with 17 television and 17 radio channels, foreign-language digital news platforms, the international digital platform "Tabii," 4 printed magazines, and internet and radio broadcasts in 41 languages and dialects, Sobacı continued as follows:
"With the confidence gained from our 60 years of experience, we continue our journey of becoming a global media player, which began with the establishment of TRT World in 2015, with excitement and growing strength. At this point, we are telling the world to the world with our international broadcasting family, which consists of our television channels TRT World and TRT Arabi, and our digital news platforms TRT German, TRT Russian, TRT French, TRT Balkan, TRT World, TRT Arabi, and TRT Afrika. Today, with the launch of our TRT Spanish digital news platform, the newest member of our international broadcasting family begins its journey. In addition to this, we are continuing our efforts to launch our TRT Persian digital news platform."
FIRST NEWS SHARED
During the program, a promotional film about TRT Spanish was screened, and Communications Director Altun, TRT Director General Sobacı, and senior executives from media organizations in 18 Spanish-speaking countries performed the opening of the TRT Spanish Digital Platform and shared the platform's first news reports.
