US President Donald Trump has invited AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the high-level Gaza Peace Council, which was established for the administration and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran recalled that, in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, it was decided to support the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, which was announced to the public by Trump.

Stating that the Peace Council and its affiliated structures, which will be responsible for establishing security in Gaza and managing the reconstruction process, have been formed within this framework, Duran said, "US President Donald Trump sent a letter on January 16, 2026, in his capacity as the founding chairman of the Peace Council, inviting our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to serve as a founding member of the Peace Council."
