Trump struck Iran, so what does the American public think?
Trump announced the airstrike on nuclear facilities in Iran as "very successful." However, only 16 percent of the US public supports the military intervention. While women are more opposed, there are also serious disagreements among Republican senators.

Former US President Donald Trump, in a statement made via the social media platform Truth Social, said that the airstrike on three strategic nuclear facilities in Iran had been completed successfully. Stating that the facilities in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan were targeted, Trump said, "American planes have left Iranian airspace. The operation was carried out as planned and was very successful."
Addressing the nation at 05:00 Turkish time, Trump claimed that Iran's nuclear capacity had been "completely destroyed" with the attack. However, this claim has not yet been verified by independent sources.
WHAT IS THE STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE OF THE FACILITIES?
The facilities that were attacked form the backbone of Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
Natanz is Iran's largest uranium enrichment facility and is located approximately 250 kilometers south of the capital, Tehran.
Fordo is another uranium enrichment facility built underground and protected by heavy security measures. It is located approximately 160 kilometers from Tehran.
Isfahan is the center where uranium hexafluoride (UF6) gas, used in the operations of these two facilities, is produced.
THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS AGAINST THE INTERVENTION
According to a poll conducted by The Economist and YouGov between June 13-16, only 16 percent of the American public supports military intervention in Iran. The vast majority of participants argue that the US should stay away from such foreign interventions.
While 19 percent of men support the attack, this rate remained at 13 percent among women.
While 59 percent of men stated that they were against the war, this rate is 60 percent among women.
The rate of undecided voters was measured at 22 percent for men and 27 percent for women.
REPUBLICANS ARE DIVIDED
Serious disagreements have also emerged among supporters within Trump's party. While interventionist Republicans argue that Iran's nuclear capacity should be completely eliminated, conservatives who are against foreign interventions found this attack unnecessary and dangerous.
