According to information obtained, the "Metal and Plastic Garbage Container Procurement Work," which was approved by Esenyurt Municipality on October 8, 2024, and for which the tender was held on November 1, 2024, was canceled on November 4, 2024.
In the tender specifications, the procurement work in question was defined as "1,000 metal and 100 plastic 770-liter garbage containers to be used for the collection of household waste on streets and avenues within Esenyurt."
According to Public Procurement Authority data, the reason for the cancellation of the tender by the trustee administration was explained as follows:
"It has been decided by the tender authority to cancel the tender with Tender Registration Number 2024/1350669, covering the Metal and Plastic Garbage Container Procurement Work, due to the fact that only one bidder submitted a proposal as decided by the tender commission and the breakdown rates were low."
"EVERYONE WILL TALK ABOUT THE CLEANLINESS OF ESENYURT IN ISTANBUL"
Mayor Özer, who was removed from office and arrested on October 30, 2024, had stated the following regarding the cleaning efforts of Esenyurt Municipality on October 18, 2024, before his arrest: "We are working day and night with our 740 employees, the heroes of Esenyurt.
We have 114 vehicles and we collect 1 ton of garbage per day. We have the largest cleaning fleet and we are carrying out the most comprehensive cleaning operation," he had said.
Stating that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu congratulated him on the cleanliness of the district, Özer had used the expressions: "As your mayor, I am always by your side.
I know that you take care of this city. I will also take care of you. Now we will add new vehicles to our fleet and everyone in Istanbul will talk about the cleanliness of Esenyurt."
