TSK Personnel Law passed by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The bill, which also includes amendments to the TSK personnel law, has been passed by the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and enacted. According to the accepted articles, the costs for the provision of goods and services requested by public administrations within the scope of the general budget will be transferred to the relevant accounts of the Ministry of National Defense budget for use by the General Directorate of Mapping. The costs for the provision of goods and services requested by administrations with special budgets and other public administrations will be deposited into the collection account of the accounting unit that carries out the accounting services of the General Directorate of Mapping.

In determining the authorities authorized to grant permission for investigation, and to conduct investigations and prosecutions regarding the Chief of General Staff, the commanders of the Land, Naval, and Air Forces, as well as generals and admirals within the scope of the relevant provisions, the final ranks and duties of the individuals concerned will be taken as the basis.

THAT ARTICLE WAS REMOVED FROM THE BILL

The regulation included in the bill stipulated that retired military personnel must obtain permission from the Ministry of National Defense before appearing on television and sharing information or documents related to their own periods of service.

The regulation, which also opened the way for legal proceedings against retired military personnel with a request for imprisonment from 6 months to three years in case of sharing information or documents, also stipulated a ban on retired military personnel sharing visual and auditory materials such as pictures, articles, photographs, audio recordings, and videos.

The relevant 2nd article, which caused controversy in the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, was removed from the bill by unanimous vote.
