Tufan Erhürman opens the Presidential Palace to the public in the TRNC

Tufan Erhürman, who was elected as the new President of the TRNC after winning the election by a wide margin against Ersin Tatar, has opened the Presidential Palace to the public.

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Tufan Erhürman has opened the Presidential Palace to the public following his inauguration.

Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Chairman Erhürman had taken office as the 9th President after defeating his opponent by a historic margin in the election.

In his statement, Erhürman emphasized that the palace is not merely an administrative center, stating the following:

“This building is the home of the people. The Presidency will not be a place disconnected from the public. Our citizens should feel at home here.”

According to the official statement, while the palace garden and certain sections have been opened to visitors, they will also be available for social and cultural events. The palace, which opened to the public over the weekend, saw significant interest; citizens took guided tours and had their photos taken in the garden.
