Tunceli Governor's Office responds to claims that 'Kılıçdaroğlu posters were hung by order'

In a statement issued by the Tunceli Governor's Office, it was stated that the claims suggesting the posters of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on the billboards were hung under the instruction of Tunceli Governor and Deputy Mayor Şefik Aygöl do not reflect the truth.

Following the court's 'absolute nullity' ruling, which saw Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu return to the post of CHP Chairman, his photos were hung on all billboards in his hometown of Tunceli in the morning, bearing the title 'CHP Chairman'. The billboards did not contain any indication as to who had the posters hung.

'CLAIMS DO NOT REFLECT THE TRUTH'

In a written statement issued by the Tunceli Governor's Office, it was stated that claims circulating in some media outlets and social media platforms, alleging that the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu posters were hung by Tunceli Governor and Deputy Mayor Şefik Aygöl, do not reflect the truth.

The statement read as follows:

“It has become necessary to make the following statement in order to inform the public correctly. The visuals regarding Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on the aforementioned billboards were published by a businessperson from Pülümür living in Germany, entirely in line with their own request and with all expenses covered by them.

Furthermore, the usage rights of the billboards have been tendered via an open tender process, as is the case in many parts of our country, and are operated by the relevant company.

The discretion and content responsibility regarding the use of the billboards belong to the relevant company, and our Governor's Office or Municipality has no involvement or approval process regarding the content of the advertisements and visuals published in these areas.

The Tunceli Governor's Office or Tunceli Municipality has no involvement in any stage of the processes of preparing, printing, placing, or financing the posters in question. Therefore, the claims that the posters in question were hung under the instruction, knowledge, or direction of our Governor, Mr. Şefik Aygöl, do not reflect the truth and are misleading to the public. It is kindly requested that the public does not give credence to information and posts that have not been verified for accuracy.”
