Tüpraş issues statement on 1 million barrels of oil

Tüpraş has announced that the oil purchased from the Iraqi state oil company SOMO will be delivered in September.

The following statement was made by Tüpraş:

"It was previously shared with the public that the St. Nikolas tanker, carrying approximately 1 million barrels of crude oil that we purchased from the Iraqi state oil company SOMO, was seized by Iranian authorities off the coast of Oman on January 11, 2024.

The entirety of the crude oil in question has been recovered by our company through a ship-to-ship transfer operation carried out between July 23-25, 2024, and it is expected to reach our refinery in September."
