Turkey says 'hello' to 2025: Squares overflowed

Moments filled with enthusiasm were experienced in Turkey as the clock struck the start of 2025. Squares in many cities were packed, and various events were organized.

While cities and squares were not lacking in New Year's celebrations, the economic crisis also had an impact on how citizens went out. Many citizens preferred to celebrate the new year in city squares and at municipal events rather than in venues.

Istanbul

The city's busy streets were filled by citizens hours before the new year. As in every year, citizens and tourists gathered in Taksim Square, Beşiktaş Square, Ortaköy Square, Nişantaşı, and Bağdat Avenue.

While fireworks illuminated the sky over the Golden Horn, a light show was also displayed at the Galata Tower.

ANKARA

In the capital, citizens celebrated the arrival of 2025 with enthusiasm. Police teams took intensive security measures in Kızılay Square.

Following the countdown, as the clock hit 00.00, songs and the joyful voices of citizens rose from the squares. Drivers passing through the square joined the celebrations by honking their horns.

IZMIR

Citizens who attended the events held at Izmir Kültürpark celebrated the arrival of the year 2025.
