Turkey's first astronaut prepares for space journey

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that Turkey's first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, will embark on his space journey on the night connecting January 17 to January 18. It was stated that Gezeravcı has entered a quarantine process ahead of this journey.

Minister Kacır said, "With the announcement made by NASA, Turkey's first astronaut will set off on his space journey at 01:11 on the night connecting January 17 to January 18. Alper Gezeravcı's 14-day quarantine process has begun. This journey, in addition to contributing to international scientific literature, will be an important milestone in Turkey's space studies and will be a source of inspiration for future generations."

"With this important development announced by NASA, Turkey's first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, will set off for space at 01:11 on the night connecting January 17 to January 18. We are in constant communication with him during the 14-day quarantine process that began as of yesterday, and everything is proceeding as planned. Alper has gone through a long training process and will be a first in Turkey's space studies. Furthermore, preparations have been completed in Turkey for the 13 scientific experiments he will conduct at the International Space Station.
