Turkey's most indebted municipality opens its purse for July 15: They spent 2 million TL

The AKP-run Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, which is Turkey's most indebted municipality, spent 1 million 970 thousand TL for July 15.

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, presided over by AKP's Tahir Büyükakın, did not comply with the decisions taken within the scope of austerity measures that began following the March 31 local elections.

The municipality spent nearly 2 million TL for the organization of the July 15 Martyrs' Commemoration Program. It was noted that there was only one valid bid in the tender held by the municipality for the organization of the program.

According to the report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality held a tender on June 24 for the organization of the July 15 Martyrs' Commemoration Program. The estimated cost of the service to be procured within the scope of the tender, carried out under the coordination of the Department of Support Services, was determined as 2 million 43 thousand 333 TL.

THEY SPENT 1.9 MILLION

Only one bid was received in the tender, which was held using the bargaining method.

The tender commission, which made its decision regarding the tender on July 11, signed a contract with a company named GES Ajans Reklam Tanıtım Organizasyon.

It was learned that the owner of the GES Ajans Reklam Tanıtım Organizasyon company is Gökhan Meriç, who served for many years as a member of the AKP Kocaeli Provincial Board of Directors. The municipality made a 1 million 970 thousand TL agreement with the company for events that will last only one day.
