Turkish Airlines begins offering domestic card TROY to its users

Turkish Airlines (THY) has begun using the domestic card TROY. THY is offering TROY card users the opportunity to earn 5 percent TK Money on ticket payments.

It has been stated that Turkish Airlines (THY) has joined the users of the domestic card TROY, whose technology was developed in Turkey. THY sent a message to its registered customers saying, "Use your TROY card for ticket payments with TK Wallet and earn 5 percent TK Money!"


It was stated that interest in the domestic card TROY, which began operations in 2016, gained momentum in the first half of 2024. It was noted that the domestic card TROY, whose technology was developed in Turkey, reached 35 million with an increase of 10 million in the first half, and that the number of cards with the TROY logo is targeted to reach 50 million by the end of the year.


IT WAS STATED THAT THERE ARE 36 MILLION TROY-LOGOS CARDS

Interbank Card Center (BKM) General Manager Ozan Deniz stated that the number of cards with the TROY logo rose to 25 million as of the end of 2023, and reached 35 million with an increase of 10 million in the first half of this year, adding that as of the end of July, there were 36 million TROY-logo cards, including 9 million credit cards, 19 million debit cards, and 8 million prepaid cards.


"WE AIM TO INCREASE TROY'S TURNOVER SHARE TO 20 PERCENT"

Reporting that the turnover share of card payments made with TROY cards exceeded 12 percent at the end of June, Deniz said, "In other words, 1 lira of every 8 liras of card payments is made with the domestic card TROY. Both our card numbers and our usage turnover share are increasing every day. By maintaining this momentum, we aim to increase TROY's turnover share to 20 percent by the end of this year."
