According to information obtained, the Turkish Airlines (THY) Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner passenger plane, operating flight TK801 from Istanbul to Panama City, took off from Istanbul Airport this morning.

While in French airspace, an emergency code was declared for the aircraft with tail registration TC-LLN.

Following the situation, the flight crew decided to turn back over the Bay of Biscay and divert to Paris. After this decision was abandoned, the crew was directed to Istanbul for landing.

While the reason for the emergency remains unknown, no statement has been made by THY officials regarding the matter.

It has been alleged that the emergency was declared due to a technical malfunction on the plane, which remained in the air for hours despite the emergency declaration.

The Boeing passenger plane landed safely at Istanbul Airport in the evening hours.
