Turkish Airlines plane stranded in Iran returns to Istanbul after 55 days

The conflict between the US and Iran that began at the end of February led the Iranian administration to close its airspace to all commercial flights. As a result of this decision, a Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft with the registration TC-JZG became stranded at Tehran Airport. The crew on duty on the aircraft were evacuated by land.
With the partial reopening of Iranian airspace, the Turkish Airlines plane took off again today around noon. The aircraft, which began its journey from Tehran to Istanbul at 14:00 local time, reportedly underwent all necessary technical checks and maintenance completed by expert teams. Comprehensive inspections were carried out on the aircraft's engines and tires.
