Turkish Airlines (THY) in Germany to the AKP has reached an agreement to sell discounted tickets to members of the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UID), which is known for its proximity to the AKP and has been mentioned in German domestic intelligence reports.

Regarding the UID's AKP's role in exerting influence in Germany, the following is stated:

"The UID, which possesses significant mobilization potential in Germany, demonstrated this potential during the 2023 parliamentary and presidential elections in Turkey. The UID, AKP officials and members of the Turkish government, highlights its ties to Turkey by holding regular meetings."

Journalist Nevşin Mengü shared the following on the matter:

"As is well known, one of the things that expatriates who want to come to Turkey in the summer complain about most is the price of flight tickets. Turkish Airlines has made an agreement with the UID, which we could call the German branch of the AKP; according to the agreement, UID members will be able to benefit from discounted tickets. So, in this case, are non-AKP expatriates second-class citizens? How does this work? The agreement has also made the news in Germany."
