Two brothers arrested for hurling insults at Atatürk and martyrs

In Osmaniye, two brothers who made posts containing insults directed at Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the martyrs have been arrested and sent to prison.

In Osmaniye, Y.B. and his older brother M.B., who reside in Karabacak village in the Kadirli district, made posts on their social media accounts containing insults directed at Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the martyrs, and the martyred police officer Fethi Sekin.

ARRESTED AND SENT TO PRISON

The two brothers were taken into custody by the gendarmerie due to the posts they had made.

The two brothers, who were brought before a judge today, were arrested by the Kadirli Criminal Court of Peace for 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility' and 'insulting the memory of a person' under the Turkish Penal Code, as well as for violating Law No. 5816 on Crimes Committed Against Atatürk, and were sent to the Osmaniye No. 1 T-Type Closed Prison.
