Two consecutive earthquakes in Tokat

Two earthquakes measuring 4.7 and 4.1 in magnitude occurred about an hour apart in the Sulusaray district of Tokat.

According to information received from AFAD, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sulusaray district of Tokat at 01:06.

The depth of the earthquake was determined to be 9.97 kilometers.

ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE IN TOKAT

Following the 4.7-magnitude earthquake, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 occurred at 02:35.

The second earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 7 km, caused fear and panic among the local population.

 

INITIAL ASSESSMENT FROM TOKAT GOVERNOR HATİPOĞLU

The 4.7-magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Sulusaray district of Tokat was felt in Tokat, Sivas, and Yozgat.

Tokat Governor Numan Hatipoğlu announced that no negative incidents were detected following the 4.7-magnitude earthquake in the Sulusaray district of Tokat.

In his announcement on social media accounts, Hatipoğlu stated, "Get well soon, Tokat. As of now, no negative incidents have been detected. May God protect our country from all kinds of disasters."

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER YERLİKAYA

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared a post on his social media account, stating that developments following the earthquake in Tokat are being monitored.

Minister Yerlikaya pointed out that there were no negative situations, stating, "All teams from AFAD and our relevant institutions are continuing their field scans following the 4.7-magnitude earthquake in the Sulusaray district of Tokat province.

As of now, there is no negative situation. We are following the developments. I extend my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake. May God protect our country and our nation from disasters."
