According to a report by Sol Portal, two elevator malfunctions occurred on the same day at the Emine Şerife Hanım Girls' Dormitory, which is affiliated with the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) and located on the Hacettepe University Beytepe Campus in Ankara.

In the malfunctions that occurred in Block A of the dormitory, one of the elevators fell to the ground floor, while the other slid down from the fourth floor. The student in the elevator was rescued after being trapped for a while. No one was injured in the incident.

A similar malfunction had occurred in the same dormitory on November 6, and the faulty elevator had been taken out of service.

"THEY ARE BRAZENLY SMILING IN THE STUDENTS' FACES"

In a statement made by the Hacettepe Solidarity Network, it was emphasized that the maintenance performed on the elevators was insufficient, and it was stated, "Our concern for our safety continues."

Noting that the approach of the dormitory administrators is far from solving the problem, the students included the following statements in their published declaration: "They claim maintenance is being done and that there is no problem. They are brazenly smiling in the students' faces. We have been condemned to live on edge without being taken seriously... Until this system changes, our worries and our past pains will not go away."
