Two more resignations from the New Welfare Party

Beşiri Mayor Alpaslan Karabulut and Balpınar Town Mayor İmadeddin Ekmiş, who were elected from the New Welfare Party in the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, announced in a joint statement that they have resigned from their party.

The statement, which noted that the mayors will continue their duties as independents, read as follows:

"In line with the demands of the people of Beşiri and Balpınar, we are acting on this path with common thought and reason together with our fellow citizens. We always prioritize the calls coming from our people. Throughout the past period, we have been acting in constant consultation with the public.

We will always remain loyal to our bond of heart with them. Furthermore, we will continue our services and work on the most appropriate ground for our people, who have not spared their love for us. We have received all the requests and demands from our people and will always try to find solutions to the demands coming from our people.

In order to provide better service to the people of Beşiri and the people of Balpınar, we have decided to continue our mayoral duties as independents, based on a joint decision we made after consulting with our people.

This decision, which we have taken to ensure better services and investments for our district and town, and to discuss the future of our district and town, has been supported by the opinions of our people down to the finest detail.

We announce this decision, which we have taken together with our people, to the public with our best wishes that it may lead to good outcomes."

YRP Provincial Chairman Ziyaülhak Yamaç, on the other hand, stated that the municipalities have become unable to produce due to debts remaining from the previous term, and said that some mayors are choosing a more comfortable and threat-free space.
