Following the call by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, DEM Party Co-Chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları had applied to the Ministry of Justice to meet with Abdullah Öcalan.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç pointed to the period after the budget negotiations for the meeting.

According to a report by Mahir Kılıç from Haberturk, the meeting will take place shortly. The report claims that instead of the DEM Party Co-Chairs, Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Van MP Pervin Buldan will go to meet with Öcalan.
BAHÇELİ'S REMARKS HAD BECOME THE AGENDA
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had opened the door to a new resolution process in his speech at his party's group meeting, stating, 'Let Öcalan come to the TBMM and announce that he has dissolved the PKK. In return, let him benefit from the right to hope.'
Bahçeli, who stated the following week that he stood by his remarks, received a positive response from the DEM Party.
